The unification of 6 Methodist preschools as one entity in vision, mission and core values has facilitated the integration of best practices in curriculum, teaching and pedagogy. It has also enabled us to focus our resources to enhance the quality of our educators through centralized training, shared learning resources, and an environment that delivers the best preschool experience for our children.
MPS continually seeks to develop our preschools into centres of excellence with a shared identity and unique strengths to provide holistic and quality education in line with the Methodist educational tradition.
We are grateful to parents who have entrusted their precious children in our care and are committed to walking in close partnership with them to nurture our children in a caring and safe-to-fail environment to enable them to reach their potential. Our desired outcome is for every child to become a person of Good Character, who possesses future-ready mindsets of an Explorer, an Innovator and an Entrepreneur.
2 August 2021 marked another significant milestone for our group of Methodist preschools as all students within our group share ONE uniform identity!
We continue our pursuit of ONE vision and mission as we forge forward together!
More About Us.
Our Heritage
Methodism in Singapore dates back to 1885 when missionaries, James Thoburn and William Oldham landed on our shores and set up the first local Methodist church. The educational mission of The Methodist Church in Singapore is to nurture each new generation of students, raising them to be men and women of godly character and integrity, equipped to make a responsible contribution to society.
Since its founding days in 1885, MCS has pioneered and invested in building schools which nurture their students' mental, emotional, physical, social and spiritual development across all ages, from preschool to post-secondary education. The first Methodist school in Singapore - Anglo Chinese School (ACS), opened its doors to students in 1886. The number of Methodist schools in Singapore has since grown steadily into a family of different Methodist schools with over 21,000 students and more than 2,100 teachers and staff today.
Providing Methodist preschool education in Singapore dates back to 1953 when the first Methodist preschool was established. Methodist Preschool is a proud member of the Methodist family of schools:
Dr Gordon Wong, Bishop of The Methodist Church in Singapore shares his heartbeat for Methodist preschools in fulfilling the deep-rooted educational mission in Methodist heritage.
